Annual General Meeting Deferred to Sept. 30, 2020

One of the highlights of our year as an organization is the June Annual General Meeting (AGM) where we have a chance to come together to learn more about what has happened during the previous fiscal year. We celebrate successes, account for funds received, elect new Board members, and focus on the work of one of our branches. It is always particularly meaningful to be able to hear the stories of clients whose lives have been transformed with the help of Mission Services of London.

Like many other events, the AGM will have to be postponed this year due to limitations on group gatherings necessitated by our efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are so sorry not to be able to meet with you in person this June to share our appreciation for your ongoing support, interest, and involvement with Mission Services.

However, we have rescheduled the AGM for September 30, 2020. At this point, it is impossible to predict whether we may be able to hold some form of face-to-face event on that day, or whether our coming together will have to be virtual. Should the AGM take a virtual form this year, lots of instructions will be provided regarding how you can still be actively involved. Once a decision is made, we will be sure to post an update to this website, missionservices.ca, as well as our social media channels.

As you can imagine, the coronavirus crisis has impacted Mission Services of London in many other ways, as well. Our staff and leadership have been working hard to ensure that the needs of the most vulnerable in our community continue to be met. The tireless dedication of our employees has ensured that the values of compassion, hope, integrity and diligence characterize the work of Mission Services during these difficult months. In some situations, staff have had to come up with new ways of interacting with clients, demonstrating creativity and resilience. While the Mission Store was closed for several weeks, we are glad to have it reopened with several precautionary measures in place to keep all staff, volunteers, and visitors safe.

We so appreciate your ongoing prayers and support of the critical work of Mission Services, especially during this time. We look forward to connecting with you soon.
