Hello! Calling all staff TV stars and stars in the making: On behalf of Irma and me, we are excited to be organizing our 5th Coldest Night of the Year winter walk. This is an important community event and fundraiser for Mission Services of London, with a goal of $60,000.

YOUR VOLUNTEER HELP: To promote the event and recruit walkers, we are having a commercial on CTV London in 2016. The taping of it is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6th from 5pm – 6pm starting at CMHP outside (457 York Street). We will gather in the back parking lot by the Gathering Place/Resource Centre. We are asking for staff who are interested to come out for an hour as “mock walkers” to mimic the real walk. We need it to look like there is a large group of eager participants. A few notes:

  • Feel free to bring along friends and family members including children (as long as they are supervised) who agree to be on film.
  • Dress in warm clothing as we will be outside for about an hour, and we want to make it look like February.
  • We “hope” to have a few treats in CMHP afterward.
  • This is volunteer time and is much appreciated! (It is not work time.)
  • Please send an email to Connie to say you’re coming so that we can have a basic idea of numbers: cspuria@missionservices.ca
  •

Please let us know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to mock walking on Jan. 6th!

Staff volunteers needed for painting on Dec. 3rd and 4th from 8:30 – 4:30 pm

If you are able to volunteer and help us paint all of the rooms (as well as a couple of bathrooms and hallways) in Rotholme, we need your muscle to get the big job done. Dulux has generously donated all of the paints and supplies, and a couple of expert paint volunteers, but we are in need of some extra volunteer hands.

*Lunch will be provided.*

If you are available and would like to lend a hand, check with your supervisor and contact Leigh-Anne volunteer@missionservices.ca or 519-433-2807 ext 105.

Thank you!
