COVID-19 Response Fund

As the pandemic unfolds, Mission Services of London, an essential service provider, continues to help individuals and families who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, addiction, mental illness and poverty. In the midst of this challenge, we are committed to continuing to respond to people experiencing need, affirm human dignity, and inspire hope as best we can — no matter the difficulties we face.

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness, are among the most vulnerable to a virus outbreak; compromised immune systems and chronic health conditions often increase their risk. We are offering safe shelter, nutritious meals, help to secure stable housing, assistance to access important health assessments or isolation spaces, and much more.

Join us in caring for neighbours in need during this pandemic, and demonstrate the power of generosity with a gift today!

Your Gift Secures Vital Personal Protective Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like face masks, face shields, disposable gowns and gloves for staff and even travel size hand sanitizer and masks/face coverings for participants are important parts of keeping everyone healthy. PPE enables staff to continue providing services to people in great need — even in the midst of this global pandemic.

Homelessness has not stopped just because of COVID-19 and neither have our services; we are still offering safe emergency shelter, nutritious meals, help to secure and maintain stable housing and more.

Donations Help Maintain a Clean Environment

The current situation has created additional needs for men, women and children who are struggling, and we are responding to those needs. Our essential staff are providing assistance to participants who must access health assessments, monitoring spaces, and isolation spaces. We have increased housekeeping staff, ramped up cleaning frequency of high traffic and other areas, and adapted our housekeeping protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as much as possible.

Your Support Fills Empty Bellies

Due to physical distancing guidelines, Mission Services of London participants are sometimes spread out between our emergency shelter buildings and other off-site locations. Our kitchen teams have adapted the scope of their service; they are not only able to encompass delivering meals to clients inside the shelter buildings, but also off-site when necessary.

In addition, we have collaborated with other local organizations to ensure their participants have continued access to nourishing meals at different points in the pandemic.

Cash donations enable the preparation of meals, as well as the purchase of ingredients and even things like take-out containers with lids to properly deliver food to participants if they are staying off-site. Your support can also fund the purchase of grocery store gift cards for individuals and families who receive outreach services from Mission Services of London, and who are struggling to make ends meet.

Your financial contributions will allow us to remain flexible and continue to adapt as the needs of vulnerable neighbours change, and as the guidelines for delivering service are updated.
