Quintin Warner House (QWH) has an opening for a Contract (Maternity Leave) Full Time Over Night Staff position (Maternity Leave) – 12-hour rotation. The position will report directly to the Program Supervisor QWH.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To offer ongoing care and support of the men within the QWH program with the following responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support where needed including data entry, filing, photo-copying
• Respond to resident/client needs by providing direct assistance and support
• Provide timely, concise and accurate documentation of resident/client centered activities in accordance with required information
• Build positive relationships with residents/ clients by supporting the ongoing needs of residents through crisis intervention, listening and support in accordance with MSL guidelines and values
• Supervise and offer support during evening and morning chores
• Provide supervision in all resident occupied areas at QWH, ensuring compliance to House Rules and documenting any interventions required
• Conduct routine security rounds, ensuring a safe and healthy and secure living and working environment
• Evacuate building, identify source and call appropriate authorities in the event of a fire or emergency
• Receive donations and ensure delivery to appropriate area
• Food inventory, product ordering
• Cleaning, meal preparation, minor maintenance
• Responding to crisis phone calls
• Health and safety checks
• Distribution of medications

Qualifications:
• Graduate of Secondary School; Community College preferred
• Knowledge of WHMIS, First Aid, CPI and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• 1-2 years experience working within a social service agency with some knowledge of Addiction issues
• Ability to deal pleasantly and effectively with a wide range of people of different ages and cultures
• Proactive crisis intervention and problem solving skills with the ability to respond to crisis situations in a calm, professional manner making timely decisions regarding reaching out for help from police, fire, ambulance etc
• Organizational skills with ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously
• Good listening and interpersonal skills
• Physically fit, as some lifting may be required
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Act in accordance and harmony with MSL Mission, Vision and Values
• Knowledge of French would be an asset
