Her experience has provided her with a solid understanding of the socio-demographic needs and mental health issues in our communities today. Nadeana Reece

Nadeana Reece was born in Barbados, a small island in the Caribbean. She was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus at a young age in her small Methodist church. At the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, where she received her Bachelor’s and Research Master’s in Mathematics, she naturally became involved with The Methodist Society. Once a month, the group would cook and package meals to distribute to the homeless downtown. It was then that Nadeana realised how much she was moved by the plight of the homeless and less fortunate in her nation.

In 2015, she immigrated to Canada to further her education at Western. After receiving her MSc, Nadeana went on to work for the TJX Companies in London and, later, in Stratford. During her time in those cities, she attended West Park church and found her second family there. She volunteered with the Young Adult, Youth and Kids’ ministries, participating however she could, firmly believing that the body of Christ really should be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world.

Nadeana now lives in Sarnia and once again has the opportunity to give back to her community as Store Manager at the Mission Thrift Store. She believes her retail and problem-solving background will be of benefit to the already well-rounded Board of Directors of Mission Services London. When she isn’t working, Nadeana enjoys being creative through food, art and dance. She is known to sing incessantly.
