50+ Backpacks Wanted for Kids – Filled Preferred

Back to School CampaignReady or not, school is starting September 5th. Stocking up on supplies is an easy thing for some, but not everyone. For about 50 children staying at Rotholme Women’s and Family Shelter, a set of school supplies may be harder to come by as parents focus on housing stability for their families. Each year, Mission Services of London runs a campaign to help fill this gap.

We have a few backpacks so far, and are appealing to the public for their generosity. Back to School Appeal List:

-50 Backpacks: JK to high school
-50 Lunch bags: JK to high school
-Water bottles: JK to high school
-Locks: high school
-Scientific Calculators: high school
-Pencil Cases: JK to high school
-School Supplies pencils, erasers, pens, pencil crayons, pencil sharpeners, markers, highlighters: JK to high school
-Shoes or gift cards to shoe stores: all sizes JK to high school

For more information on how you or your organization can make a donation to this campaign, please contact Connie at 519-433-2807 ext. 2108.

Rotholme Women’s and Family Shelter at 42 Stanley Street is a safe place with room for up to 20 families—men, women and children—in need of emergency shelter and care. Caseworkers provide counselling and support to help clients transition to more permanent housing, and achieve self-identified goals.
