Mission Services of London is announcing a reorganization in its management structure by combining two previous positions of Director of Men’s Mission and Rehabilitation Centre and Director of Rotholme Women’s and Family Shelter and creating a new position of Director of Shelters.
Gordon Russell, the current Director of Men’s Mission and the current interim Director of Rotholme will continue his current dual role by assuming the new position of Director of Shelters, effective July 1, 2012.
Gordon has been an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team of Mission Services of London for 21 years as the Director of Men’s Mission. He stepped into the role of Interim Director of Rotholme and has provided stability and effective leadership there since January 1, 2012. Previously, Gordon also served as interim Executive Director of Mission Services from March 2, 2009 to August 2, 2010.
Gordon brings a wealth of knowledge of the shelter system in London and has been an active participant in many municipal initiatives to solve the crisis of homelessness in London, including the London Community Housing Strategy, London Community Plan on Homelessness, the development of Shelter Standards, and has been a past chairperson of the London Homeless Coalition. With Gordon’s leadership at both our emergency shelters, the community will be assured of the continuing quality of care provided by Mission Services of London.
