This past year Mission Services of London was privileged to have Paul Pickering and his team at Paul J. Pickering Limited sponsor our annual fall banquet. With their commitment and financial support we were able to get that much closer to our goal of raising $25,000 and are able to continue to meet need at the point of need for those we serve in our community. With the money raised, 40 bed frames, mattresses and linens were purchased for our guests in the Men’s Mission & Rehabilitation Centre.
Paul J. Pickering Limited was founded in 1990 with the ideas and thought of helping individuals deal with personal debts and the process of financial rehabilitation. While working for a national insolvency firm, Paul saw the need of providing financial services on an individual basis without the structure of a large imposing firm. Since 1990, the firm has continued to provide one on one service to London and area. All facets of the bankruptcy process or proposal process are conducted within the office. Unlike other firms, they do not use contract facilities to provide the counselling required under the legislation. All consultations are free of charge because we encourage people to understand the process. We leave the decision to the individual as to how they wish to resolve their financial situation. Their goal is to treat everyone facing financial difficulty with dignity and respect.
Paul Pickering joined the Board of Directors for Mission Services of London in 2007. When asked why he became involved with Mission Services of London, he replied, “when I was asked I really had to think what I could do to support the organization and felt that although I could not do the front line work I could stand behind to encourage and provide support to those who do the day to day work. Also given the type of insolvency practice that I have, it became an extension of trying to help those who may need the help.”
A big thank you to Paul and his team!
