Annual Fill Up the Bus Campaign to Set Children up for Success

On Aug. 25, join us between 12 pm and 5 pm in our parking lot at York St. and Rectory St. for our annual Fill Up the Bus event! You can help families and children in need by donating school supplies like backpacks as well as child-size face masks and travel-size hand sanitizer during this uncertain time. “Fill Up the Bus will benefit all of the children at Rotholme Family Shelter for the next school year,” said Stacey Wilson, Program Supervisor of Rotholme. As many children do not have the supplies they need to start school this fall, all donations will help to set them up for a successful year.

While it is currently unknown if students will be returning to classrooms full time this fall, it is important for each child to be prepared to engage with school work whether it is completed in school buildings or with the help of parents elsewhere. “If schools are not open this coming September, children will still be working on school work outside of the classroom… School supplies are used by the children to keep their minds active,” explained Stacey.

Please note that we will be taking precautionary measures during the event to keep all donors and staff safe. This includes a physically distanced drop-off of the school supplies donated for children at Rotholme.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children in need this school year. We hope to see you on Aug. 25 to Fill Up the Bus!
